“To each his own, man.” That’s the mantra of the day. Who am I to impose my morality, my ideology, my faith on someone else?
Except it doesn’t work that way. Every Hitler, Stalin and Idi Amin came to power when this philosophy has taken hold. Every day, someone, or a group of someones, impose their worldview on others.
An un-examined worldview is a dangerous worldview.
One of my best friends in the world is a guy named Roger. Roger and I disagree about some stuff. We argue. Its so refreshing to be able to honestly say “no, I think you’re wrong.” At least I know where he stands. Amazingly, on most issues we stand together. That’s what makes our friendship real.
But never fool yourself that standing on the sidelines is not endorsement.
Ask Nelson Madela. Ask Dr. King. Ask Abraham Lincoln. Your issues may not be as world changing, but they are just as life changing.
Courage. Take a stand.
